Marks and Spencer branches out into banking at Bluewater

Stephen Pinkney with the M&S Bank Bluewater team.
A NEW Marks and Spencer Bank branch has launched at Bluewater Shopping Centre.
The in-store bank, one of the first to launch in the UK as the retailer branches out into banking, was opened by Crawford Prentice, Deputy CEO of M&S Bank, and M&S Bank Manager Stephen Pinkney.
Pledging to offer a new style of banking, the branch on the first floor will be open the same hours as the store including evenings and weekends.
Customers waiting for appointments will be given a pager and alerted as soon as an advisor is free so they can continue to shop.
At the opening on Thursday (September 27), Mr Pinkney said: "My team and I will always be on hand to give our customers in Kent the warm welcome and great service they expect from M&S, whether customers want to discuss their finances or simply get up and running with online banking."
Mr Prentice added: "I am delighted to open the Bluewater branch of M&S Bank."
