A BROMLEY couple have launched a new online community where residents can lend their bikes to cyclists.
The scheme enables cyclists to hire bicycles at a low cost while owners have the chance to make a tidy profit.
Average rental prices range from £5 to £10 ensuring it is much cheaper than the "Boris Bike" scheme.
Registering bikes is currently free but a charge is set to be introduced in the future.
Angela Bevan, 26, launched the company a few weeks ago with her fiancé, 30-year old Colin Doran, of Lawrie Park Road, Sydenham, after noticing the high prices of bicycle hire in London.
Miss Bevan, of Calverley Close, Beckenham, is running the site as part of their rental company London Guest, which also includes the hiring of houses, rooms and gardens.
She said "We came up with the idea after we looked into hiring a bike for the day and realised how expensive it was.
"After some research we were surprised to see nobody else provides this service.
"We’ve had really good feedback so far and we’re hoping to find an investor later this year."
