An Enfield woman will be running around the streets in a gorilla costume today to raise money for charity.
Courtney Hagen, 28, of Wellington Road, will be taking part in the Great Gorilla Run in central London.
The run will see more than 1000 people all dressed in gorilla costumes running to raise money for the Gorilla Organisation.
The Canadian born runner said: “I’ve been fascinated by gorillas ever since I was a little. They’re so close to being human and they look like our ancestors.
“I was handed a leaflet about the run one day and it thought it would be good to get involved. I’ve been doing a bit of training for it and it should be good fun.”
The Gorilla Organisation has been working to protect gorillas in Africa for the last 20 years by promoting sustainable living for people near their habitat.
