HUNDREDS of families have helped raise thousands of pounds for Darent Valley Hospital’s Cancer Fighting Fund.
Around 250 people took part in the hospital's Stride 4 Life sponsored walk while more than 1,000 enjoyed a fun day in the hospital grounds.
Entertainment was provided by singers, dancers, Dartford gymnastic team, baby ballet and a dog show.
Fundraising manager Tracey Cummins said: "Last year the Stride 4 Life walks and fun day raised £25,000 and it is hoped this will be achieved this year.
"The fun day raised £4,500 but it will be a few months before we have the total raised from the sponsored walk."
Cash donated to the Cancer Fighting Fund enables the hospital to introduce the latest equipment and treatments to benefit patients with any form of cancer.
