The Bishop of London gave a school his seal of approval when he formally opened its new £6m building.
The Rev Richard Chartres visited St Mary’s and St Peter’s Primary School, in Somerset Road, Teddington, on Tuesday, September 18.
Richmond Council carried out the major renovation as part of its primary expansion programme.
Councillor Paul Hodgins, cabinet member for schools at Richmond Council, said: “Again we have seen an increased demand for primary places this year due to the popularity of schools in the area.
“Therefore, having St Mary’s and St Peter’s expanded from a two form of entry school to a three form of entry school is very good news for parents and children.
“By September 2013, we will have added an additional 21 permanent forms of reception entry across the borough, all since 2000, which shows the council is doing all it can to meet the demand for primary places.”
