Tourist attacked as he waits for train at Penge East station
A NIGERIAN tourist’s holiday ended badly when he was punched in the face and threatened with being thrown on the tracks as he waited at Penge East station.
The victim, who flew back to Lagos the next morning, suffered a cut lip and bleeding as well as dizziness.
British Transport Police says the suspect is a slim man in his late teens with short dark hair and might have been wearing a red jumper.
Officers want to hear from anyone who saw the assault, especially two women who were on the platform at the time of the attack.
The attack happened at around 10.30pm on August 23 but the British Transport Police has only just appealed to the public for information.
Anyone with information is asked to call the British Transport Police on 0800 405040 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
