Video: Gravesend dog abuser Jordan Kearsley sentenced for violent attack on German shepherd in Gordon Parade

GRAPHIC CCTV footage of a man repeatedly kicking and stamping on a dog in a Gravesend park has led to a teenager being banned from keeping animals for five years.

Unemployed 18-year-old Jordan Kearsley, formerly of Royal Pier Road in Gravesend, beat his father’s elderly German shepherd Blaze in Gordon Parade in May.

The attack was caught on CCTV, and a Doberman he was also walking was not harmed.

Footage also shows Kearsley being arrested and the dogs being taken away from him. The RSPCA said Blaze, thankfully, was not badly injured.

Dartford magistrates heard on Monday (September 17) that Kearsley’s father was shown the footage and said his son could never have contact with the dogs again.

Kearsley has now moved to Wellbeck Road in Sutton, south London, with his mother and the dogs were returned to his father.

After pleading guilty to causing unnecessary suffering to an animal, he was sentenced to 12 weeks in custody – suspended for 18 months.

He was also ordered to attend a senior attendance centre and pay £750 costs. Additionally, he was made subject to a curfew from 8.30pm to 6am for 12 weeks and disqualified from keeping animals for five years.

RSPCA inspector Vikki Dawe said: “This video footage was heartbreaking to see. This poor elderly dog was being kicked and stamped on. The violence was horrific.”

What an awful individual. Banned for five years? He should have been banned for life!

I just made myself watch the video. What does it take for the law to ban this sort of individual from ever owning an animal again? I think the dog should have been removed from the family. Heartbreaking footage.

Why is the teenager not locked up in a cage? Oh, these judges make me mad.

@ joertmclark
Because that would probably make him even worse. A lifetime ban, a big fine and community service would have been better.

Sicko should be locked up for longer!! Put him in a cage, dirty little rat, I hope he gets treated the same in prison! I'm sure when people see him they will do the same to him!!!!! Shouldn't be able to have a pet ever again you can't ban him for 5 years, police need to be harder on this sort of crime, I'm disgusted with this

What must it be like to find out your own son has done that to your beloved dog?

The poor dog was just looking up at him in a loving way, all the time he was kicking it and stamping on it.

What an idiot Judge, not to see that this monster should NOT be out on our streets.

Typical behaviour of a coward and bully- inflict pain and take out your frustrations on anything weaker than you, especially if you can rely on whatever it is not being able to fight back. These types often have a perverse fascination, even obsession with violence, just as long as its not inflicted upon them.
This kid should be banned from having animals for life. A crazy decision by the court.
Don't know the age of the Doberman- it does look very young- but most mature Doberman's I have known would normally attack an aggressor, particularly if they were using violence on a person or another animal they are attached to and have protective instincts towards. If I had done this to my wee mongrel, who is a canine senior citizen, my Doberman would probably have torn my leg off.
That boy is very lucky the Doberman didn't turn on him- I can't say its a pity- because the dog would probably have been euthanized for biting the worthless little monster.
