A celebration day rewarded youngsters in Richmond Council’s care and care leaders for their outstanding academic success and accomplishments in the past year.
The event was held at Orleans House Gallery and recognised the hard work of 135 children and young people who were nominated by their foster carers, social workers or leaving care workers.
Councillor Christine Percival, cabinet member for education, youth and children’s services at the council, said: “Many of these young people have had a difficult start in life, and it is with great pleasure that the Council is publicly able to say ‘well done’.
“I hope they build on this success and continue to achieve in the future.’’
Awards celebrated successful GCSE results, plus dramatic, artistic, musical and sporting endeavour.
