THE MAYOR of Gravesham invites walkers to join her as she carries on the tradition of Beating the Bounds.

Councillor Lyn Milner will walk the 35-mile borough perimeter over the weekend of October 6 and 7.

Travelling 18 miles on October 6 and 11 miles on October 7, the remaining six miles of the borough’s boundary are on the River Thames.

Cllr Milner said: “There are plenty of refreshment stops, mostly in friendly local pubs along the route.

“Sunday is a much easier walk than the Saturday, and walkers can, of course, join in for just part of the route.”

With many boundary walkers often sponsored, the Mayor will this year support the EllenorLions Hospice and the Alzheimer's and Dementia Support Services.
