Riverside jazz with Boaters crowd
A jazz guitarist and composer will take to the riverside to entertain music lovers.
Carl Orr worked in the mid-70s with Jackie Orszacky, Dale Barlow, Steve Hunter, Wanderlust and James Greening.
The Australian moved to London in 1995 and toured and recorded with Billy Cobham and performed with Randy Brecker, Ernie Watts, Gary Husband and George Duke.
Since then he has been concentrating on his own music and has honed his sound over seven albums including his latest, titled Emergence.
The practising Buddhist also teaches at Brunel University, the Australian Institute of Music in Sydney and teaches guitar at Middlesex University.
He is due to perform in Kingston with pianist Simon Carter, bassist Phil Mulford and drummer Jack Pollitt.
