Plane's emergency landing near Biggin Hill Airport after engine fails
10:18am Monday 3rd September 2012 in News By Robert Fisk
The plane landed in a field near Biggin Hill Airport
ENGINE failure meant a pilot had to make an emergency landing at the end of a training flight from Biggin Hill Airport.
The pilot alerted air traffic control to difficulties with the Piper PA-28 aircraft before landing the plane in a field near the airport at around 2.20pm on Friday (August 31).
He was not injured in the incident and nor were the other two people who were in the plane.
The aircraft, which is operated by the EFG flying school, was checked out by an engineer after the forced landing.
The owner of the field then gave permission for a takeoff and the plane then returned to the airport for a normal landing.
