A FOREST Hill man accused of attempting to wound police officers and damaging a police car has denied the charges.

George Ben Leroy Asare, aged 25, of Elsinore Road, appeared at Croydon Crown Court today.

He pleaded not guilty to six charges including two attempted woundings of Police Sergeant Ian Fearn and Mick Chatterton on February 19 this year.

He also denied one count of criminal damage on a Vauxhall Zafira belonging to the Met, criminal damage to a Volkswagen Polo, the attempted wounding of a firearms officer dubbed ‘N17’ and one count of affray.

There will be a directional hearing on October 12 and Asare will remain in custody until his trial on November 1.
