A spectacular house made out of glass has been nominated for an award.
Surrey's House in The Ridge, Epsom, has been recognised for its design and is up for a small practices Structural Award 2012.
The building joins The London 2012 Olympic Stadium, Titanic Belfast and Al Hamra Firdous Tower in Kuwait on the short-list.
The house, which adjoins Woodcote Park golf course, was created to make the most of as much light and space as possible.
It is made up of a main living block and a detached pool house, using exposed concrete and glazing.
Architects Eldridge Smerin designed the building and it was built by Tall Engineers in 2010.
Judges noted how it makes use of a challenging concept, but clever engineering means it appears as if it does not contain much structure.
Surrey's House has already scooped an award from the Royal Institute of British Architects Award in 2011 and could become a listed building in the future.
Judge and institution president John Nolan said: "The calibre of entries for the Structural Awards 2012 was outstanding, and it was an enormous privilege to be part of the judging panel.
"There were more entries this year than ever before and with such high quality across the board, selecting the short-listed projects was extremely tough."
The Structural Awards launched in 1968 and are now in their 44th year and are held every year to celebrate excellence in structural engineering.
Winners will be announced on November 2 at the Marriott Grosvenor Square, in Park Lane, London.
