Bookworms and casual readers are invited to attend a literary festival hosted by Sunrise Senior Living of Weybridge.
A variety of exciting activities will take place throughout the week, including book sales and swaps, short story telling sessions, a literary themed quiz, prose and poetry-reading, as well as book
signings.
Special guests will include TV personality and military historian, Andy Robertshaw, Carla Bennet, who will be speaking about children’s literature, and author John MacCormack, who is also a Sunrise
employee.
Deputy mayor Councillor Michael Bennison will be the guest of honour, attending the festival at the specialist residential and dementia care community, on its closing day.
Christine Bunce, general manager, said: “As well as being a fantastic opportunity to socialise and appreciate some of the literary classics, the festival will also encourage our residents to keep
reading – a particularly important activity for dementia sufferers, in terms of stimulating memories and keeping an active imagination.”
The Sunrise of Weybridge Literary Festival will take place from Monday, September 10, to Saturday September, 15.
