Police appeal after robbery near Weybridge station
Surrey Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward following a daylight robbery in Weybridge in which a woman had her phone snatched from her hand.
The woman in her 20s was walking along an alleyway between Brooklands Road and Heathbridge shortly before 6pm on Wednesday, August 29, when a man grabbed hold of her hand and told her to give him her phone.
The offender was a white man, in his late teens, between 5ft 2in and 5ft 3in, skinny build, with ginger curly hair.
He was clean shaven and wearing dark clothing and a grey woolly hat at the time of the offence.
PC Sara Beighton, of Staines CID, said: “This robbery took place near Weybridge Station and we are hopeful that a train passenger or someone else in the area may have seen someone matching the offender’s description.”
Anyone with any information about this incident should call Surrey Police on 101, quoting reference EL/12/5696, or independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
