A 12-year-old’s dancing dreams have come true after she was selected to perform with the English Youth Ballet (EYB).

Alexandra Finch-Zutshi, from St Margarets, will appear in the Sleeping Beauty at the Waterside Theatre, in Aylesbury, for three performances, on August 24 and August 25, after beating 200 other hopefuls at an audition in January.

The young dancer will experience the life of professional ballet dancer after working at the Sir Henry Floyd Grammar School, in Aylesbury, in a 10-day intensive rehearsal process.

Company manager Ben Garner said: “Working with EYB will be one of the highlights of these talented young dancers' careers, to date.

"The audiences watching EYB are in for a unique and exciting experience too. They will be seeing both top international principal artists and the best up-and-coming young talent from their region – sharing the stage.”

Alexandra goes to Ibstock Place School, in Roehampton, and is dancing at the Richmond Academy of Dance and also at Ibstock Place Dance School.

In The Sleeping Beauty she will dance the role of one of the lilac fairy attendants and she will also appear in the flamboyant Russian dance.
