THE weather did not dampen spirits of revellers at this year’s Dartford Festival.
Thousands braved showers as they flocked to Central Park on Saturday and Sunday (July 14 and 15) to enjoy a mix of live music and cultural events.
Britain’s Got Talent finalists Loveable Rogues headlined the main stage on Saturday, while festival favourite Chas and His Band pulled in the crowds on Sunday.
Festival-goers dived out of the rain in the sports zone, where representatives from Erith Yacht Club, North Kent Martial Arts and Millwall Football Club encouraged youngsters to try out something
new.
Meanwhile, talks were held in the exhibition marquee by the likes of the Crayford Astronomical Society and the Dartford Floral Society.
Leader of the council, Councillor Jeremy Kite said: "It was a great weekend and it was brilliant to see so many people with smiles on their faces despite the weather on Saturday.
"It was a testament to all the people and organisations who work hard to make the Dartford Festival the great free event it is.”
