Bogus callers posing as policeman and a plumber target pensioners

Bogus callers pretending to be policemen and a plumber targeted two Enfield pensioners at the weekend.

A 75-year-old man had his wallet stolen on Saturday, July 14, after he let a burglar posing as a plumber into his home in Johnby Close in Enfield Lock.

On Friday, July 13, two men claiming to be police officers knocked on the door of a 74-year-old man’s home in Lowther Drive in Oakwood. They left quickly and did not take anything from the man.

None of the men have been arrested.

Enfield Police are reminding people to check for formal identification before allowing workmen into their homes.
