Peter Copper was swept off his feet in Pamplona
A 21-YEAR-OLD man found himself being swept off his feet on a lads’ holiday – by a bull.
Peter Copper took the proverb ‘grab the bull by the horns’ literally when he and his friends went to Pamplona in northern Spain to run with the bulls.
After two days of running with the 600lb bulls in the streets of the town the building labourer and his friends went into the bullring with some of the younger bulls.
There were around 500 people in the ring at the time but Mr Copper was one of the only ones to get up close and personal with one of the animals.
Mr Copper, of Old London Road, Knockholt, said: “During the run with the main fighting bulls I was just feeling pure fear and in the arena it was just a laugh.
“I grabbed the bull by the horns, literally.
“Everyone corales it in a circle and slaps its arse and does flips over it and to see how close to it they can get and see how macho you are.”
The force of the bull knocked Mr Copper over and he narrowly escaped serious injury, instead just getting a few scratches and grazes.
He added: “I was under the bull by the time I knew what was happening.
“I did not get a chance to run.
“The adrenaline was just pumping through when it happened.
“I ended up under its hooves and I rolled over when I saw its legs start to buckle and I rolled out then somebody pulled me up.”
