Richmond Riverside selected for summer like no other

Richmond Riverside has been revealed as the location for one of Mayor of London Boris Johnson’s A summer like no other events.

As part of the Mayor’s cultural festival to mark the Olympic and Paralympic Games the Riverside will play host to Showtime on Sunday, July 22.

The event will feature live entertainment from noon to 5pm, including a surreal acrobatic performance by Trois Points de Suspension called Journey to the Centre of the World, and comedy street theatre in the form of the Spurting Man, as performed by Avanti Display.

Appearances will also be made by Plunge Boom, who will present CBeebies gardening favourites Vegetable Nannies, showing children how to sow and grow, 3rdthought’s Invisible People performing one-t-one poetry, jokes and storytelling, and Les Grooms musical and comedy troupe Fanfare Tout Terrain.

Showtime is a free event arranged by the Mayor of London to celebrate the 2012 Games.
