POLICE are questioning two teenagers after a 29-year-old man was murdered in Northfleet last night (June 21).
Kent Police was called at 11.07pm to reports of a disturbance at an address in Holly Court, a block of flats adjacent to The Hive.
Officers and South East Coast Ambulance Service attended and a 29-year-old man – named locally as Jay - was pronounced dead at the scene.
Two men, aged 17 and 18, have been arrested on suspicion of murder.
Neighbours have suggested the man died from stab wounds, although this has not been confirmed by police.
Oscar Rodriguez, of College Road, told News Shopper: “I got in this morning from Cornwall and could not even get in my own block of flats as it was all taped up.
“We all know each other here and when the sun is out we all hang outside together.”
The twenty-nine year-old, who says he knew the victim, added: “I just can’t believe it, it’s a shame.
“It’s not one of those things you expect to happen on your doorstep, it’s horrific.”
Mr Rodriguez, who has lived in College Road for 10 years, says he believes the victim lived at his flat with his girlfriend and two young sons.
Another neighbour explained how she heard shouting and a lot of noise outside the flats before the police were called.
The area remains cordoned off and forensic officers spent the morning at the scene, leaving soon after midday.
Road diversions are in place as the road is closed at the Fisherman Hill junction with Ford Road.
A post mortem examination is expected to be carried out this afternoon.
The identity of the victim is not being released until all next of kin have been informed.
