Thousands of Dartford and Gravesham youngsters to celebrate Saint George's Day
THOUSANDS of youngsters will parade through Dartford and Gravesend to celebrate Saint George’s Day this year.
Pupils from 27 schools across north Kent will parade alongside musicians and creative artists on April 23.
During the past six weeks the children have been preparing displays to carry in the parade as well as a model of Saint George himself.
Director of Kent Equality Cohesion Council Gurvinder Sandher said: “The events in Gravesham and Dartford will underline the positive community relations existing in north Kent as the diverse communities will be coming together as one to celebrate the Patron Saint of England.”
The Gravesham parade begins at 10:30am outside the Towncentric office with the Dartford parade starting at 1:30pm outside the One Bell Pub.
A brass band will perform outside in Gravesend’s Community Square at 10am and outside the One Bell Pub at 1pm.
The Kent Equality Cohesion Council aims to reduce inequality and promote good relations between the diverse communities across Kent.
