See if a year of coalition government has affected local votes at the Elmbridge Council elections.
This year there are 20 contested wards or seats, all except Walton Ambleside and Hinchley Wood.
The Official Monster Raving Loony Party is staging a world record attempt this election, although they have no idea which one they are trying to beat.
The party wants to field a record number of candidates in one ward, and has nine people standing in Molesey East.
Chinners, one of the candidates, said: “Whenever there’s an election there is always one person from each party, otherwise it splits the vote.
“We like to try to find little loopholes and thought it would be a laugh to have a load of us stand.
“I just wanted to get a few people involved to show how easy it is.
“Everybody has the right to vote, but everybody also has the right to be voted for, bedsides the fact it’s a jolly good laugh.”
The election takes place on Thursday, May 3, and the count itself should be completed between 3am and 4am the following day at Sandown Park racecourse.
