INK-TASTIC fundraisers have endured the needle to raise money for the the Royal Marsden Cancer Trust.
Jesters Tattoo Works in Sidcup Road, New Eltham, held the event in honour of Peter and Carol Ashby who originally opened the business in Penge in 2000, but moved to the current site two years later.
Mrs Ashby passed away in May 2009 after a short battle with cancer. Her husband passed away last August from lung cancer and was treated at the trust's cancer centre.
His nephew, Andrew Simpson, who now owns the shop said: "I thought it would be nice to give something back to Royal Marsden."
Customers visiting the shop on April 1 were offered the choice of 35 designs in the Jesters colours of purple and yellow.
Mr Simpson added: "The most popular tattoo was the jester's hat and there were approximately 30 tattoos done during the day. We raised around £1,400."
