A POLICE investigation into allegations of child cruelty at a nursery has caused concern among parents.
Officers from the Met’s Child Abuse Investigation Command are investigating multiple allegations of cruelty at the nursery in Riverston School, Eltham Road, Lee.
The staff member accused of abuse, believed to be deputy manager Danielle Yusuf, was dismissed following an internal investigation last year.
Subsequently, parents have received letters from the school, informing them a police investigation is taking place.
School inspectors Ofsted also carried out an unannounced inspection on November 23.
Riverston is a fee-paying school which has around 250 pupils aged from one to 16.
A Met Police spokesman confirmed they received several allegations of child cruelty and neglect on November 9.
He said: “On December 22 a 30-year-old woman was arrested.
“She was subsequently bailed to return to a south London police station in late February pending further enquiries.”
