Two very different perspectives on the same family, seen through the eyes of a brother and sister, is the subject of a new production by Teddington Theatre Club.

A Different Way Home was originally written as a one act play for stage and radio but was later extended especially for actor Roy Barraclough.

The play, written by the late Jimmy Chinn, tells the story of Leslie, who always lived with his mother and is stricken with grief at her loss, while his sister Maureen is nowhere near as distraught and still smarts from her family’s rejection for her marrying “badly”.

Chinn was an active member of Teddington Theatre Club who generously gave his time and talent to both writing and directing for it.

The full version of the moving and beautifully observed play won Chinn great acclaim.

Wes Henderson Roe will direct the production at Teddington Theatre Club, which will be showing in the Coward Studio from Sunday, February 26, to Saturday, March 3.

Tickets £9/£11 includes a £1 donation to the Jimmie Chinn Breath of Life fund. Call the box office on 0845 8387529, or visit ttc-boxoffice.org.uk.
