A lifeboat crew member will hang up her overalls and perform in a spectacular concert of songs from the West End and Broadway.
Cathy Cogle, of Teddington, is a volunteer for the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) but has also performed in famous shows including Les Miserables, the Sound of Music and My Fair Lady.
She trained at the Royal Academy of Music and combines her musical career with a busy teaching schedule, but still finds time to be a crew member at Teddington Lifeboat Station, which operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
She will present An Evening at the Musicals at the Landmark Arts Centre, in Teddington.
She organised the event and will donate all proceeds to the RNLI.
The West End performer, who appeared at this year’s Royal Variety Performance and the Classical Brit Awards, said: “I am lucky to be part of such a dedicated and professional team who all work together to get the job done however difficult.
“The RNLI does not get any funding from the UK Government and so I thought I would do my bit, combine my two passions and help a very worthy cause.”
An Evening at the Musicals will start at 8pm on Sunday, February 12. Tickets £15/£20. Call the box office on 020 8977 7558, or visit landmarkartscentre.org.
