Mayor of Dartford raises money with sci-fi characters
PHOTOGRAPHS with Darth Vader, Stormtroopers and Daleks raised money to give seriously ill children something to remember.
Mayor of Dartford, Councillor Eddy Lampkin took to the Orchards Shopping Centre in Dartford on Saturday, January 7, with a gang of characters from Star Wars and Dr Who.
By posing for photographs with shoppers, they raised £465 for Cherished Moments – which organises special family days out for children in hospices and then provides them with a DVD to remember it.
Cllr Lampkin said: “It was great to see these hugely popular characters drawing in people of all ages to have their pictures taken and donate money to Cherished Memories – a very worthwhile cause.”
