POLICE, ambulances and fire crews were called to a suspected chemical incident at the Tesco underground car park in Lewisham this afternoon.
A spokesman for the London Fire Brigade confirmed they had been called out at around 2.32pm.
Part of the store and the car park was evacuated and cordoned off but they have since started to reopen.
A member of staff said emergency services were called after a gas-like smell was detected.
Tests for chemicals were carried out at the scene but none were found.
A number of people were checked by ambulance staff but none required any treatment, a spokesman said.
