A 42-YEAR-OLD man has admitted stealing a war memorial plaque from Lewisham.
Paul Kelly of Spring Gardens, Arlington Close, Ennerdale Road in Lewisham pleaded guilty to theft at Greenwich Magistrates’ Court yesterday (December 20).
Lana Clitheroe, aged 42, of Dundalk Road, Brockley is also charged with the same offence. She entered a guilty plea on a previous date.
Both thieves are due to be sentenced at Bromley Magistrates’ Court on January 17.
The plaque was stolen from St Mary the Virgin Church, Lewisham High Street, on October 19 and has still not been recovered.
It was one of two bearing the names of those who died during the Great War.
