POLICE have charged a 21-year-old man with attempted murder following Monday's shooting at the Cakes & Shakes ice cream parlour in High Road, Woodford Green.

Temidire Owolabi, 21, of no fixed address, has been charged with attempted murder, possession of a shotgun with intent to endanger life on November 12, and possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life on November 14.

A 24-year-old man, named locally as the shop's co-owner, James Bryant, is still fighting for his life in hospital after being shot in the incident on Monday.

It is believed he was gunned down while clearing up damage caused by a shot fired at the window of Cakes & Shakes during a previous incident on Saturday.

Owolabi will appear in custody at Redbridge Magistrates' Court on Monday (November 21).

Three other men arrested in connection with the investigation have been bailed to a date in early January pending further enquiries.
