Vandals were thwarted in their efforts to deface the new mural in the underpass between Fairfield Halls and Wellesley Road.

On Wednesday night, taggers had sprayed graffiti on the newly-painted mural, commissioned by the council and painted by art group Under Croydon.

But little did they know the artwork was covered in an anti-graffiti varnish which meant the vandalism was wiped off with ease come Thursday.

It would be nice if the council could get a conviction and bang these dim-wit-morons up inside for a couple of years and fine them of course.

Maybe they could divert some resources from issuing parking tickets?............

I've never seen the attraction of wanting to go around and scribble on walls. However, I probably did it at home when I was 2 or 3 years old.

whilst the perpetrators of graffiti are guilty of a crime (criminal damage) and should be punished. It should also be a crime to allow graffitti to remain on your proerty for longer than say a month. This would soon get the city cleaned up. Meanwhile the numbskulls who play up to the myth of criminals like banksy, need their heads testing.
