A TEACHER seduced one of his pupils and carried on a sexual relationship with her for seven years, the Old Bailey has heard.

Mohammed Akorley, from Honor Oak is alleged to have abused the girl, who cannot be named for legal reasons, from the age of 11.

The affair continued until the complainant turned 18, but she only went to the police in September last year, aged 22.

This morning jurors were shown tapes of the complainant's police interview.

Speaking to a police officer from the Child Protection Unit she said: "When I started secondary school there was a teacher there and I thought he was my friend.

"He took me to the British Museum and he touched my hand - I thought it was a love thing.

"When I was in his house in Crystal Palace we kissed and then I think two days after that it went to him raping my virginity."

The attacks are said to have taken place between January 1999 and January 2005.

The English and history teacher denies eight counts of rape and one of indecency with a child.

Sexual encounters between Akorley and the complainant had taken place up to five or six times a week, often in his car.

The trial continues.
