More students across Lambeth have been celebrating their GCSE results.

At Dunraven School, 73% of students achieved five A*-C grades including English and Mathematics, a significant improvement on last year’s results. Of these, 93% of the students gained five A*-C grades.

Deputy Principal Steve Parsons said: "These results earn the rating of 'outstanding' in terms of academic excellence, as well as added value and are a just reward for the great support of the students' families and the amazing commitment and expertise of their teachers."

At Streatham & Clapham High School, pupils celebrated after 92.2% of them achieved grades A*-B, up from 85.3% last year.

Deputy Head, Richard Hinton, said he was "delighted" with the results.

He said: "We focus on assisting every pupil to extend herself beyond her potential with the support of excellent teaching staff and exceptional pastoral care. These results reflect the hard work and ambition of our students."

Commenting on all the results, Streatham MP Chuka Umunna said: "Congratulations to our GCSEs students on their excellent results, which reflect a great deal of hard work and determination.”

“We should also pay tribute to parents, teachers and support staff who work day in, day out to help young people achieve their goals."

GCSE results in Lambeth have now increased for the thirteenth consecutive year.

Lambeth Council cabinet member for children and young people, Councillor Pete Robbins, said: "It is an incredible achievement for our schools to have improved on their GCSE results for the 13th consecutive year. Thanks must go to all the staff and pupils who have clearly worked so hard to achieve such strong results."
