NEWS Shopper has teamed up with Ellen Kent and Opera International to give readers the chance to win some fabulous prizes to celebrate their latest lavish productions.

Strauss's Die Fledermaus is being staged at Croydon's Fairfield Halls on October 6, followed by Puccini's Madama Butterfly at the Orchard Theatre, Dartford on October 7.

The spectacular shows feature a large cast and live 40-piece orchestra, as well as a special mystery guest in the ballroom scene of Die Fledermaus.

Set to Strauss' mesmerising and fanciful score, reminiscent of his hugely popular and Viennese Waltz style of music, Die Fledermaus tells a tale of fun and frivolity, love triangles and revenge.

Highlights from Ellen Kent & Opera International's production of Madama Butterfly include the melodious Humming Chorus, the poignant aria One Fine Day, and the Love Duet.

The opera is set in a tranquil and beautifully created traditional Japanese water garden with many classical features and varieties of oriental trees.

The Chisinau National Opera bring to life two of the best-loved operatic productions of all time.

The cast includes stars such as Galina Bernaz, Nadia Stoianova, Maria Tsonina, Irina Vinogradova - the talented soloist who won the Vienna Opera House Young Opera Singer Competition, and international tenor Ruslan Zinevych, who performed with Pavarotti in 2004.
