A SCHOOLBOY has died after being hit by a car on the A20 on the border of Chislehurst and Sidcup.

The 14-year-old boy, named as Kaine May by friends, was hit by a black Honda Accord at around 3.45pm yesterday (July 17) on the stretch of road outside Flamingo Park.

Police and paramedics attended, but the Kemnal Technology College pupil was pronounced dead at the scene.

Kaine is said to have spent the day with friends at Bluewater shopping centre in Greenhithe, and had close links to the north Kent area.

The driver of the Accord, a 34-year-old man, has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving, and bailed to return to a south London police station in October.

A Facebook tribute page for Kaine has already attracted more than 2,000 supporters.

His friend Lewis Bainbridge posted the comment: “R.I.P. Gone but never forgotten. All our hearts go to your family and friends.

“This is so sad and you will be truly missed. Shine bright little one. R.I.P Kaine May”

Another friend, Rielly Smith, wrote: “When I read through all these posts it just doesn't seem real, it seems like yesterday we was carrying u round fleet estate and you let me ride your scooter.

“You was so lovely and waaay to young to die. Your body may have died but your spirit will always live on. R.I.P”
