An afterhours event at Chessington Zoo will give visitors the chance to see the animals in a new light.

On Saturday, June 25m the zoo opens its doors from 6pm till dusk, in aid of the Chessington Conservation Fund (CCF).

Special animal shows, meet and greets, keeper talks and exclusive auctions will entertain guests, and boost the CCF.

The CCF launched this year, to build upon the work the zoo has achieved in the past 80 years, such as its successful breeding of Sumatran tigers and the highly-endangered Andean Condor.

Zoo manager Marc Boardman said: “The CCF is a project we have been working on for a while and we are excited to finally have it up and running.

“It is important that we continue our successful breeding programmes within the zoo but also spread our reach and help protect animals in the wild”.

Tickets for the one-off event are available on the gate or at chessington.com, for £5.

The fund will receive 100 per cent of the evening’s proceeds.
