CHELSEA stars from yesteryear were back in action last weekend as they took on a team of parents to raise money for a Barkingside school.
The charity match was the highlight of a fun day at King Solomon High School last Sunday, which also saw a Dalek, donated by local toyshop Toyology, roaming the school playground.
Former Blues stars, including Dave Beasant, Ian Pearce and Clive Walker, turned out in the match which was watched by around 800 visitors.
And the ageing Blues showed they still have what it takes on the pitch, handing out a 9-0 drubbing to the team of King Solomon parents.
Events on the day raised £5000 which will be spent on a range of activities at the school.
Headteacher Spencer Lewis said: “There was a real buzz of excitement and enthusiasm throughout the day.
“It was a pleasure to host the Chelsea Old Boys for what was a very close match!”
