THE LEE Valley Regional Park Authority is considering seeking a Judicial Review against the council's decision to grant permission for a housing development overlooking a nature reserve.
The application to build 124 flats in four blocks up to seven storeys at Essex Wharf, off Lea Bridge Road in Leyton, was approved by Waltham Forest Council in January.
This was despite objections from the park authority (LVRPA), Hackney Council and campaigners, who claimed the proposal was not appropriate for the area next to Walthamstow Marshes and the River Lea Navigation.
The LVRPA also appealed to Communities Secretary Eric Pickles to review the decision amid concerns about its impact on the area, but he decided not to intervene.
The authority has said the response it gets from the council will "determine its course of action".
A decision on whether or not to go ahead with the judicial review will be made at an executive committee meeting on June 23.
