A man has been arrested after an allegation of rape on Easter Sunday.
A spokesman for the Metropolitan Police said a 38-year-old man had been arrested today on suspicion of rape after the incident in Alexandra Park, Tolworth.
The force said the alleged rape had taken place on Easter Sunday at about 7.50pm.
Residents had believed the incident took place yesterday, Easter Monday, after seeing forensics officers in the park.
The man is being questioned in a police station by officers from the Sapphire unit as the investigation continues.
