A ROYAL engagement has been announced at a primary school that will stage a mock-up of Kate and William's big day in four weeks' time.

Reception class pupil Jessica Bull, five, and Year 3 boy Charlie Levick, eight, from Epping Upland Primary School, will play the role of Kate Middleton and Prince William when the school creates its own version of the wedding on April 28, the day before the real thing.

The wedding will take place at All Saints' Church, Epping Upland, with the service conducted by the Rev Bryony Robinson and pupils playing the roles of the Royal Family, other guests and even the head of security.

Deputy headteacher Cathy Newland said: “We just though it would be a good, fun way of enabling the children to remember a special day.

“We're only in school on the Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday and we thought we would spend the three days doing British history and the Royal Family and having a party atmosphere.”

All the children at the school entered a competition to design the best wedding dress or royal coat of arms and the pupils with the entries voted the best won the role of the happy couple.
