The trio involved in the attack which left Ian Baynham dead spoke of the incident on Facebook before they were caught, it has been revealed.
Yesterday, Joel Alexander, 20, from Thornton Heath and 18-year-old Ruby Thomas, from Upper Norwood, were sentenced to seven and six years respectively for the manslaughter of gay civil servant Mr Baynham in December last year.
Rachael Burke, 18, of Crystal Palace, was found guilty of affray at an earlier trial but cleared of manslaughter. She was jailed for two years.
During the Old Bailey trial, the court heard that the trio exchanged Facebook messages with friends regarding the incident and subsequent police appeals.
During one online conversation, Rachael Burke describes how she is "scared" after seeing TV appeals by police.
She wrote: "I'm just scared bout my parents seeing it nd recongising it. and scared bout us all being caught."
In a separate conversation, between Joel Alexander and another anonymous friend, the 20-year-old asks if he could be identified by the footage shown during a police appeal.
