AN IMPRESSIVE seventeen students from a top school could be heading for two of the world's most prestigious universities.

Six A-level students at Bancroft's School in Woodford Green have been offered places at Oxford University, while 11 could go to study at Cambridge University.

The high-achievers must now spend the next few months working hard to ensure they get top exam grades to secure their places.

The school's headmistress Mary Ireland said: “We are delighted that the hard work and dedication that these students have shown over a number of years has been so richly rewarded and we wish them the very best in the pursuit of their studies.”

Those heading for Oxford are: Genevieve Carnell (History, St Hugh’s), Kim Grave (Geography, St Catherine’s), Tom Heaps (History, St Catherine’s), Oliver Sadik (Economics, Brasenose), Saranja Sivachelvam (Chemistry, St Anne’s), and Daniel Willoughby (Engineering, Worcester).

Meanwhile, those set for Cambridge are: Sam Agbamu (Classics, Corpus Christi), Stefan Babic (Archaeology and Anthropology, Homerton), Liam Flynn (Medicine, Christ’s), Ayako Henson (Geography, Fitzwilliam), Arun Kirupakaran (Medicine, Robinson), Luca Mariano (Mathematics, Queens), Upen Patel (Economics, Selwyn), Rioghnach Sachs (Classics, Corpus Christi), Amar Sood (Computer Science, Trinity), Josh Strycharczyk (Veterinary Science, St Catherines), and Neha Vaidya (Natural Sciences, King’s).
