Police are appealing for information into the death of teenager found unconscious at her home.

Cheryl Wheeler died today at 12:25 in Kingston Hospital after being found unconscious by a friend at her house in Church Road, Worcester Park at around 7pm on Saturday.

When the 18-year-old's friend arrived at the house there was another man present who he did not know.

Police have said the two men then had an altercation before the unknown man, who was on crutches, escaped the scene in a dark convertible car, possibly a BMW, driven by a second man who has been described as Oriental.

Ms Wheeler's family said in a statement: "Cheryl Wheeler a loving daughter, sister, granddaughter, friend and girlfriend no other star shines brighter and we will always love you - always and forever in our hearts."
