FOLLOWING news that Haringey Council has pulled its funding to an award-winning youth magazine the council has revealed that more youth services could be lost.

Exposure Magazine, based in Muswell Hill Youth Centre, has been praised by the council and is even up for a prestigious Spirit of London Award but will no longer receive a grant it relied upon.

In a statement, the council said the decision was "unfortunate" and admitted that the full impact of the cuts to youth services was still uncertain.

The council is under obligation to tighten its spending across each department and could lead to the closure of youth centres across the borough.

A fierce campaign, Save Haringey Youth Centres, has been launched to oppose the closure of the clubs that young people are desperate to keep.

A spokesman said: "Unfortunately, because of Government cuts, we have decided that we are not able to provide further funds for Exposure.

"The other parts of the youth service budget are being reviewed, along with every other part of council expenditure, so we are not yet in a position to set out what the full impact of the cuts will be."
