A ROBBER who brandishes a handgun and carries a Tesco carrier bag - who first struck in Watford last year is now believed to have committed six offences across the county.
The first robbery occurred at William Hill bookmakers in High Street, Watford, on September 12 last year, at around 10.15am. The deputy manager was opening up the premises when he was approached from behind by the offender who placed a black handgun against his neck.
The deputy manager was ordered behind the counter of the premises and told to hand over a quantity of cash. This was done, and the suspect put the cash in a white plastic carrier bag.
The suspect then ordered the victim into a toilet and told him to lock himself in while he made off. The victim was unhurt.
A further robbery occurred at a bookmakers in Garston Park Parade, Watford on Friday, March 3. Again, he was carrying a black handgun and the carrier bag. He waved the gun at a female member of staff through a partition and demanded she fill the bag with cash.
She refused and eventually the suspect grabbed the victim's purse from the counter area and left the shop.
The robber has also struck at bookmakers in Hitchin, Potters Bar, Hatfield and, on Wednesday, July 5, at Ladbrokes in Lawn Lane, Hemel Hempstead, at 9.10pm.
