Cafe Leticia's in North Parade is asking permission to set up a street cafe for diners.
The owner wants to put three tables, six chairs and an umbrella outside the cafe.
One person has objected to the idea.
Councillors will be asked to make a decision at Kingston’s south of the borough council next week.
The meeting will take place on Wednesday, September 15, at 7.30pm at Southborough School.
