A SUMMER day club run by a Somali community group held its closing ceremony last week.
The programme, run by Harrow Association of Somali Voluntary Organisations (HASVO), gave children in South Harrow activities ranging from basketball to a trip to the Science Museum.
The club, run from HASVO's centre under the railway arches in Stanley Road, came to an end on Wednesday last week to coincide with the start of Ramadan.
Ayan Ali, the youth club's leader, said: “Without having received any funding it made it a bit difficult trying to arrange something big but we got lucky as HASVO had this facility and we had people from the local area willing to put their time in to make this work.”
