A Surrey Police constable has pleaded guilty to plotting a jeweller’s raid and stealing police and Royal Mail uniforms.
PC Dustin Hunter, 30, of Budgen Close, Crawley, who was based in Banstead, was arrested at Clacketts Lane service station on the M25 motorway on March 20.
He was involved in a plot to rob a jewellers in Oxted, and stole two police hats, two reflective jackets, a badge and two polo shirts from Surrey Police, and a Royal Mail uniform.
He pleaded guilty to encouraging or assisting the commission of an offence, namely robbery, two counts of theft of police uniforms and one count of theft of a post office uniform.
PC Hunter pleaded guilty to an offence under the Serious Crime Act 2007 and three counts of theft at Winchester Crown Court on Monday (July 26).
PC Hunter was previously based at Banstead Police Station and had already been suspended from duty, charged with one count of possession of Class B drugs with intent to supply, in January.
He is due to be sentenced for all charges on August 16 at Harrow Crown Court.
