Demonstrators protesting against the sacking of a Watford teacher have again protested outside a school.
The protesters, who gathered outside Westfield Community College on Friday evening to demand the re-instatement of popular science teacher Martin Elvin, who was sacked earlier in the year after a long-running investigation into an alleged pupil assault – an accusation denied by his family and supporters.
The small group of protesters, some of whom took part in a noisy demonstration at the site in February, handed protest leaflets to school governors as they arrived for a meeting.
Former student Laura Boycott-Brown, of Ridge Lane, said: “We need people to know that we support Mr Elvin and that what has happened to him is wrong. He is a fantastic teacher and we need more like him.
Mr Elvin has lodged an appeal against his sacking.
